Black History Month Inspiration : Black Girl Magic Studs

Black History Month Inspiration : Black Girl Magic Studs

Black Girl Magic has always been a quote embraced by black women like me in my culture. That's what inspired me to make these Black Girl Magic Stud earrings. As for the choice of color, purple. Honestly, it was inspired by the recently released adaption of The Color Purple featuring Fantasia, a fellow Charlotte native. I love the film so much that I wanted to include pieces in the Black History Month collection that are inspired by art from my culture.

Creative Process

How did was I able to imprint the quote on the stud earrings?
After researching creating polymer clay earrings, I did want to stay true to Beautiful Me's staple niche, "hand stamped jewelry", so I found small letter stamps from Keoker Store that sells affordable and good quality shaped stamps for polymer clay. But it was a challenge getting all the words on a single frame like the heart bezel frame used for the studs.
But the best thing about the Keoker letter stamps is the hand-held letter stamper you can use to put more than one letter stamp on or one at a time. So that was helpful to use to get letters closer to the sides of the shape.
